Kaospilot is a hybrid business and design school, a multi-sided education in leadership and entrepreneurship, founded in Aarhus (Denmark) in 1991. The teaching programmes are not designed simply to shape students to fit the future, but to help them create it.

By providing a space and a place where creatives and potential change-makers can develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes and competencies they need to fulfil their values and visions, Kaospilot builds the frameworks within which creative minds can become creative leaders.

WHAT IS A KAOSPILOT?

A Kaospilot is an entrepreneur, leader, or changemaker, who’s core competencies lie in moving projects, people, and ideas forward in order to create transformation and positive change.

A Kaospilot leads and facilitates transformational journeys through chaos that are awesome and significant to society, students and teachers. Enables the process of personal and social transformation by exploring the mindset needed, creating the learning space in which experiment and facilitating the change needed.

Skills of a Kaospilot and contexts of application:

Establishing the correct frames that promote “multiple pathways to learning so that all students are engaged and successful”
Facilitatingractical and class-team work for the development of intra & interpersonal student skills which promotes stretch zones, risk taking, creativity and reflection
Running creative processes, exploring ideas and innovation using effective and fun brainstorming techniques, rapid prototyping and working with problem solving through design thinking practices
Team-based pedagogy, group dynamics and team building methods to establish strong peer-to-peer, shared learning environments and to increase student engagement

THE KAOSPILOT APPROACH

The Kaospilot philosophy and framework has evolved over the past 25+ years of praxis, combining the experience of a vast and diverse faculty of educational practitioners with a broad yet coherent theoretical foundation.

These include various schools of thought within philosophy, psychology, action research and learning. The worldview draws inspiration from humanism while seeking to combine it with a systemic and relational view of social and natural systems in order to realise this potential and value.

They call this the Enterprising Leadership Practice – it is a practice that involves identifying and realizing opportunities and potential within a given context that create holistic value and benefit for those connected people and communities.
